In 1972 Marshall Thurman and Tom Norris began Thurman and Norris Concrete Company, Inc.  Initially they were involved in field engineering work and the sub-contracting of sidewalks and curbs and gutters.

Marshall (Glenn’s father) acquired sole ownership of the company in 1974 and began to specialize in smaller paving projects, generally the reconstruction of one-to-two block city streets. In 1978, as the Company’s capabilities increased, avenues opened up for larger projects.

Within two years, the firm shared an admirable percentage of the Dallas area concrete paving market. In May 1982, to better reflect the Company’s growth, capabilities, and management structure, a name change took place. Since then, Glenn Thurman, Inc. (GTI) has continued the tradition of quality established by the original Company.

What began as a modest subcontracting and paving business has grown into a full-service organization with capabilities that extend well beyond paving only to include other phases of site development such as clearing, earthwork, and underground utilities.
